On August 26, 2026, the Justice Department and FBI announced court-authorized domain seizures targeting two hacking platforms known as QScan and QTRouter. According to DOJ, QScan scanned for and infected internet-of-things devices, while QTRouter combined compromised IoT devices, commercial proxy devices, and leased servers into an obfuscation network.
That detail matters beyond national-security cases. Fraud teams see the same basic problem every day: attackers hide behind residential-looking traffic, compromised devices, mobile proxies, VPN exits, and rented infrastructure. The request looks local, but the user intent is not.
